Got one of those “Will service your furnace” letters from a company in Yorba Linda. Called them and they came out and said they couldn’t get the part to fix my furnace, but weren’t going to charge me the $79 for the “service call.” Indicated they would give me a great deal, $7,000 for a new furnace, and would come back yearly and check it for their normal service fee.
Got the contractors reference off the internet for (3) HVAC contractors. Air-Tech, Inc. “John” was the first to come out. Talk about knowing his business. This young man was “on time,” “polite,” very “knowledgeable” and certainly knew his business. He reviewed my furnace and offered me a package deal of Furnace, Air Conditioner and special air filter as my wife has asthma. There was “NO” pressure! He said he would be glad to do the work and would follow-up, and offered a great “factory warranty.”
I should have signed up right then, but I didn’t as I had two other contractors responding for bids. The second contractor never showed and called a week later and asked me if he was supposed to be at my house last week, as he had got his calendar mixed up. The third and final contractor did show up, told me how bad all the other contractors were in not getting “matched” equipment, and took complex measurements of every room so the system would “function correctly.” Said he would get back to me by noon the following day, and never heard from him again.
At 12:30PM, on the day the third contractor was to call back, I was on the phone to John and begged him to do the job. John again took it in stride, and said he could start the next morning. At 9AM sharp, his installation crew was at my door, “Ready To Install.” I thought this was too good to be true, but just like John promised, his people were there with top of the line equipment and made a “CLEAN” install. The system works great! Not only did I get a new upgraded heater, I got the special filter and a Central Air Conditioning System, for less than what any other company could even come close to in replacing my furnace.
Let me tell you, I researched all of the equipment before any contractor ever showed up. I think I knew what the best was, and very close to what it cost. I had a total of 6 HVAC contractors who did or were going to give me a bid. Air-Tech, Inc. “John” was the one who recommended the “BEST” equipment per my research, and gave me a price that I feel was phenomenal. I compared it with my friend who recently had the same thing and my cost was $1500 less, and I have absolutely no complaints. My friend on the other hand, has tried to get his company out to fix assorted duct and electrical mistakes and he is not even sure the unit is saving him any energy as it runs all the time.
TAKE MY WORD for it. I’m just “Joe Homeowner,” I needed a furnace repair, and I got the GREATEST DEAL on a fantastic HVAC SYSTEM. Thank you, Air-Tech, you did a great job.
